A7 The Restaurant

安娜和本下午去了海滩。

Ānnà hé Běn xiàwǔ qùle hǎitān.

Anna and Ben have been at the beach all afternoon.

本看着他的手表告诉安娜：

Běn kànzhe tā de shǒubiǎo gàosù Ānnà:

Ben looks at his watch and tells Anna:

“现在是晚餐时间。我们可以在警察局上方的餐厅吃披萨！”

“Xiànzài shì wǎncān shíjiān. Wǒmen kěyǐ zài jǐngchá jú shàngfāng de cāntīng chī pīsà!”

“It's dinner time. We can eat pizza in the restaurant above the police station!”

“不，本！今天我要美餐一顿。我们总是吃披萨。”

“Bù, Běn! Jīntiān wǒ yào měi cān yí dùn. Wǒmen zǒngshì chī pīsà.”

“No, Ben! I want a nice meal today. We always have pizza.”

“你说得对，对不起！你想要哪种？鱼还是肉？”

“Nǐ shuō de duì, duìbuqǐ! Nǐ xiǎng yào nǎ zhǒng? Yú háishì ròu?”

“You're right, sorry! What kind of food would you like? Fish or meat?”

“我们可以去河边的鱼餐厅。”

“Wǒmen kěyǐ qù hé biān de yú cāntīng.”

“We can go to the fish restaurant by the river.”

“啊，我记得那个地方，但是它很贵，不是吗？”

“A, wǒ jìde nàgè dìfāng, dànshì tā hěn guì, búshì ma?”

“Ah, I remember the place, but it's very expensive, isn't it?”

“这是我们在这里的最后一个晚上，咱们走吧！我有地址。”

“Zhè shì wǒmen zài zhèlǐ de zuìhòu yígè wǎnshàng, zánmen zǒu ba! Wǒ yǒu dìzhǐ.”

“It's our last evening here, let’s do it! I have the address here.”

“我们的钱够吗？我没有现金，你呢？

“Wǒmen de qián gòu ma? Wǒ méiyǒu xiànjīn, nǐ ne?

“Do we have enough money? I don't have cash, do you?”

“不多，但没关系。我们可以用信用卡或支票付钱。”

“ Bù duō, dàn méiguānxì. Wǒmen kěyǐ yòng xìnyòng kǎ huò zhīpiào fùqián.”

“Not much, but never mind. We can pay by credit card or by cheque.”

在餐厅里，他们坐在一张双人桌旁。一个有着大胡子的男人在弹吉他。

Zài cāntīng lǐ, tāmen zuò zài yì zhāng shuāngrén zhuō páng. Yígè yǒuzhe dà húzi de nánren zài tàn jíta.

At the restaurant, they sit at a table for two. A man with a big moustache plays the guitar.

一个年轻的服务员送来了菜单，并且把盐和胡椒放在他们的桌子上。

Yígè niánqīng de fúwùyuán sòng láile càidān, bìngqiě bǎ yán hé hújiāo fàng zài tāmen de zhuōzi shàng.

The young waiter brings the menus and puts salt and pepper on their table.

他们点了矿泉水，因为他们两个都非常渴。

Tāmen diǎnle kuàngquán shuǐ, yīnwèi tāmen liǎng gè dōu fēicháng kě.

They order mineral water because they are both very thirsty.

“您选好了吗？”

“Nín xuǎn hǎole ma?”

“Have you chosen?”

“我想要蔬菜汤然后要一个猪肉和米饭。”

“Wǒ xiǎng yào shūcài tāng ránhòu yào yígè zhūròu hé mǐfàn.”

“I would like the vegetable soup and the pork with rice afterwards.”

“我也要汤，然后我要烤鸡肉和白豆。”

“Wǒ yě yào tāng, ránhòu wǒ yào kǎo jīròu hé bái dòu.”

“I'll have the soup, too, and then the roasted chicken with white beans.”

服务员还拿来了一篮面包。

Fúwùyuán hái náláile yì lán miànbāo.

The waiter also brings a bread basket.

他们看着餐厅里的有钱的客人们。

Tāmen kànzhe cāntīng lǐ de yǒu qián de kèrenmen.

They watch the rich guests in the restaurant.

“他们得赚多少钱才能每个月来几次啊？

“Tāmen děi zhuàn duōshǎo qián cáinéng měi gè yuè lái jǐ cì a?

“How much do they earn to come here several times a month?”

“比我们多。”

“Bǐ wǒmen duō”

“More than we do”

晚餐后，服务员拿来了账单，然后他们用借记卡付了钱。

Wǎncān hòu, fúwùyuán náláile zhàngdān, ránhòu tāmen yòng jièjì kǎ fùle qián.

After dinner, the waiter brings their bill and they pay by debit card.

“晚安，谢谢你的晚餐。”

“Wǎn'ān, xièxie nǐ de wǎncān.”

“Good night, and thank you for the dinner.”

“晚安。”

“Wǎn'ān.”

“Good night.”
